Transparency

How Asraa Hope Foundation is regulated, how donations are spent, where to find our audited accounts and policies, and how to raise a concern.

Donors trust us with their money and the people we help trust us with their stories. This page sets out how we account for both.

How we are regulated

Asraa Hope Foundation is a company licensed under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. It is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), files annual returns and audited accounts with the SECP, and is registered with the Federal Board of Revenue for tax.

Audited accounts

Our audited financial statements are published here each year after they are filed with the SECP.

How donations are spent

  • Restricted gifts, including zakat and gifts to a named programme, are spent only on that purpose.
  • General gifts are spent wherever the need is greatest, including the running costs that make our programmes possible.
  • Wherever possible we pay schools, hospitals and suppliers directly rather than giving cash.

Our policies

  • Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing: we know our donors and our beneficiaries, and follow SECP guidance for not-for-profit organisations.
  • Safeguarding: we protect children and vulnerable adults in all our work.
  • Data protection: we keep personal information safe and use it only for the purpose it was given. See our privacy policy.
  • Conflicts of interest: directors and staff declare any personal interest in a decision.

How to raise a concern

If you are unhappy with anything we have done, or have a concern about how a donation was used, please write to us through our contact page. A director will review every complaint and reply in writing.
