Donations are received by Asraa Hope Foundation, a not-for-profit company licensed under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017.
Ways to give
- Online. Use the panel above. It shows the right payment option for the country you are in.
- Monthly. A regular gift lets us plan support for families over months, not days. Choose monthly in the donation form where available.
- Bank transfer. Open “Bank transfer details” in the panel above. Please email us after transferring so we can send your receipt.
Zakat, sadaqah and sadaqah jariyah
Zakat is the obligatory annual charity for Muslims whose wealth is above the nisab, usually 2.5% of savings held for a lunar year. Asraa keeps zakat in a separate fund and gives it only to people eligible to receive it. Work out your zakat.
Sadaqah is voluntary charity given at any time and in any amount. We use it wherever the need is greatest.
Sadaqah jariyah is ongoing charity whose benefit continues, such as a water well, a school place or a masjid. Choose the clean water or education programme to give sadaqah jariyah.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
- Pakistan. Donors in Pakistan can claim a tax credit only for gifts to organisations approved under section 2(36) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. Our current tax status is shown on the About page.
- United Kingdom. Our UK charity registration is in progress. Until it is complete, gifts are not eligible for Gift Aid.
- United States. Our US nonprofit registration is in progress. Until 501(c)(3) status is granted, gifts are not tax-deductible in the US.
Receipts
Every donor receives a receipt by email. If you need a receipt for a bank transfer or a replacement for a lost receipt, write to us with the date and amount of your gift.
Questions about giving
Can I choose which programme my donation supports?
Yes. Choose a programme in the donation form. If you do not choose one, your gift goes to our general fund and is used wherever the need is greatest.
Can I donate on behalf of someone else, or in memory of someone?
Yes. Add their name in the note field of the donation form, or email us after giving, and we will record the gift in their name.
Is it safe to donate online?
Yes. Payments are handled by established payment providers over an encrypted connection. Asraa never sees or stores your full card number.
