Who we are

Asraa Hope Foundation is a Pakistani not-for-profit company, licensed under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017 by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). We work with families in Pakistan who cannot meet basic needs on their own: children at risk of leaving school, patients who cannot pay for treatment, households without enough food, and communities hit by floods, heatwaves and other emergencies.

As a Section 42 company, Asraa cannot pay dividends or distribute profit to anyone. Every rupee it receives must be spent on its charitable objects, and its accounts are audited and filed with the SECP.

What we do

  • Education. School fees, books, uniforms and transport so children can stay in school.
  • Healthcare. Help with hospital bills, medicines, tests and treatment for patients who cannot afford them.
  • Food support. Monthly ration packs for families in hardship, and food distribution in Ramadan and at Eid.
  • Clean water. Hand pumps, wells and water filtration for villages without safe drinking water.
  • Masjid and community. Support for masajid, madaris and community centres that serve their neighbourhoods.
  • Emergency relief. Food, shelter and medical aid when floods, heat or other disasters strike.

Giving from Pakistan, the UK, the USA or elsewhere

The donation panel on this site shows the right way to give for the country you are in, in your own currency. Asraa is registered in Pakistan today. We are preparing to register as a charity in the United Kingdom and as a nonprofit in the United States, and each country’s panel says clearly whether gifts there are tax-deductible yet.

Where your donation goes

  • You can give to a specific programme or to our general fund, which goes wherever the need is greatest.
  • Zakat is kept in a separate fund and spent only on people who are eligible to receive it.
  • Every donor receives a receipt.
  • We publish our audited accounts on our transparency page.

Common questions

Is Asraa Hope Foundation a registered charity?

Yes. Asraa Hope Foundation is registered in Pakistan as a not-for-profit company under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017, and holds a licence from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Registration in the United Kingdom and United States is in progress.

Can I give my zakat to Asraa?

Yes. Choose zakat when you donate. Zakat is held in a separate fund and given only to people who are eligible under Islamic rules. Our zakat calculator can help you work out how much you owe.

Can I donate from outside Pakistan?

Yes. The donation panel detects the country you are in and shows the right option. You can also switch country yourself. Until our UK and US registrations are complete, gifts from those countries are received by our Pakistan entity and are not tax-deductible there.

How do I know my donation reached people?

We report on our programmes through our blog and videos, and publish audited accounts every year. You can also write to us to ask how a specific gift was used.
